The Texas "One, Two, and Three Application Process"

After you have confirmed your eligibility: http://texaschl.us/eligibility.htm and applied online at https://texas.gov/ your next steps would be:

STEP 1. Schedule Electronic Fingerprints.

STEP 2. Retrieve your LTC 100 along with supporting document(s) (if any). Note: Please refer to your online checklist or email for supporting document(s) to submit to DPS.

STEP 3. Submit and upload your LTC 100 along with supporting document(s) to DPS through the RSD secured website: https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/contact/ltcatt.aspx

***DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN YOUR LTC-100, It will be rejected.

The time from submission to receiving your license will vary depending on the number of other submissions. If your application is complete and error free, you may receive your license in as little as 4 weeks. You may NOT carry a concealed firearm prior to receiving your license in the mail.

Should your application be missing any required information, you will receive written notice from the Texas DPS and have 90 days to submit the missing information.

    Fees for the application submission are for the background check and funding the LTC program staff and administration. These fees are non-refundable and EFFECTIVE AS OF 01 SEPTEMBER 2017, ARE NOW ONLY $40. 

     

    **The License to Carry course assumes that the student is proficient with a handgun. You will be required to safely load and unload your handgun and fire the required rounds within the allotted time. If you have ZERO experience with the use of a handgun and/or are unfamiliar with your handgun - schedule a Basic Firearms Class with me first.    

     

     

     

    What Should I Bring To Class?
    1.  Photo ID (Driver's License or TX ID Card)
    2.  Handgun .22 caliber or larger (As per the new caliber requirements) 
    3.  50 Rounds of ammunition for your pistol in the box
    4.  Hearing protection (over the ear or ear plugs)
    5.  Eye protection (Sunglasses, eyeglasses or safety)
    6.  Cash or Credit Card for payment
